What can I do to prevent my order from being delivered to the wrong address?

  • Updated

We understand how frustrating it is when your order is delivered to the wrong address, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience. Here are steps you can take to help ensure this doesn’t happen in the future:

Use the DPD app to pinpoint your address

The DPD app offers features to help drivers accurately locate your property.

  • Upload property photos: Add pictures of your house from the street to make it easier for drivers to identify.
  • Add detailed descriptions: Include helpful details, especially if your house number or name is not clearly visible (e.g., "The house with the green door and brown shed").
  • What3Words integration: Use the What3Words service to provide a highly precise location for your property. This system assigns a unique set of three words to your exact location, acting as an accurate GPS marker for the driver.

You can install the DPD app on both Android (Samsung, Google, etc.) or iOS (Apple) phones, for more details see https://innovation.dpd.co.uk/app

Alternatives to the DPD app

The DPD app is the best solution for helping drivers to locate your property.

However, if you don’t want to use the app, you can set up a delivery profile on the DPD consumers website at consumers.dpd.co.uk instead, or email the DPD team at consumers@dpd.co.uk with your full address and a detailed description of your property to request these details are updated on their system.

Double-check your shipping address

Double-check the shipping address associated with your account or order. Pay special attention to the first line of the address and the postcode, as even small mistakes—like a missing digit or swapped letter—can result in incorrect deliveries.

Report the problem

Let our customer care team know about the issue, so we can provide feedback to DPD and investigate further if needed.

You can also leave feedback directly with DPD through their app or tracking service, which helps highlight problems for specific drivers.
