Our packing standards are under constant review to ensure the goods you have ordered will reach you in immaculate condition whilst caring for the environment.

Where necessary, we use various types of packing protection in the parcels we send to you, predominantly for wet pet food as it can be more prone to damage in transit.

Most Common Packaging Materials

Depending on the items in your order, we may use one or more of the following materials:

Cardboard Boxes

We use boxes with a FRAGILE print on it for heavy goods and environmental friendly single wall boxes for lighter goods which are known as 'Enviro-box'. They offer the protection of traditional double wall boxes, using less material. Based on information from the manufacturer the process of manufacturing Enviro-box results in a 30% saving in CO2 emissions.

Paper 'Bubble' Wrap

This paper is 100% recycled and manufactured from recyclable and biodegradable materials. It is a perfect eco alternative to the standard bubble wrap widely used for packing goods.

Less Common Packing Materials

Loose Fill Chips

• White
  
  100% biodegradable and 100% compostable loose fill chips designed to minimise damage from shock, vibration and the movement of goods in the box.
  
  Manufactured from starch material, they are a fully compostable void fill material and 100% biodegradable. The product is fully soluble when saturated with water which takes away this issue of litter. It also conforms to EN13432.
  
  The manufacturing process for this void-fill material is a single-stage process (compared with the manufacturing process for the polystyrene version, which is multi-stage, uses more energy so is less environmentally friendly).
  
  Starch is also an annually renewable resource.
  
  
• Green
  
  Superior protective packaging made from 100% recycled EPS material. Pelaspan loose fill particles are ideally shaped to fill up all the voids in a box. The interlocking shape provides perfect protection especially for heavy goods.
  
  The chips are coloured green for easy identification, are dust free and easy to dispense. They are fully recyclable.

Foam Shock Absorbers

These foam lengths are highly shock-absorbent and provide extra protection from vibration in transit. They have been specially designed to provide outstanding protection against damage caused in transit, including shock damage and vibration being 100% recyclable and chemically neutral.

Air-filled Cushions

Produced by a small compact machine from 100% recyclable air cushions that are used as void, for layering and for protection.
